Ok, this is a weird question I guess... I rescued a sick betta from work, and have been treating him with the bettafix and salt remedy for about a week and a half. He has been getting better (more lively, brighter colors, better appetite). But there is one thing that isn't getting better. He has what I thought was a mouth fungus, but it is black. Everything that I have found on mouth fungus says its either white or grey. Does anyone know what a black growth around the mouth could be? It hasn't affected his eating yet, but it is very noticable. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks!
Erin

Wow Erin...I have no idea! That sounds odd. A parasite?? If it's a parasite I don't think fungus meds will work on it. Is it getting worse?

A parasite is a possibility, but it isn't getting worse. He can still open his mouth fine. I'm pretty sure he was in a fight before I got him, so maybe it is an injury that got infected?? These are all really just speculations...
