I prefer auction listings so I set my selection to auctions only, then I first look by "ending soonest" then by price lowest first.

it Depends, If I am going to sell, I use the Watchcount website that way, I can see how many people are watching certain items, how many times it sold, what titles they used for their items, what their descriptions were, what price it usually sells. it gets me excited that i can do all this in one location. it used to be a major hustle especially since ebaypulse didn't give as much detail as watchcount. @Debbie-I am very impressed with your buying method, it is a smart one indeed. i tried that just the other day. usually if i want the item, I'm too impatient and i use the buy it now option.
