smile Have you been making excuses for all the things you can't do in life with a disability? Have you figured out a great way to keep yourself motivated and stop making those excuses? We'd love to have your feedback on how you've stopped making excuses for all you can't do and show us how we all CAN do the things we set our minds to!

You made me think of a skit from Little Britian where Daffyad Thomas was with his mother and his mother was trying to motivate him in getting a job, moving out or at least get welfare and his excuse was he couldn't because he was a gay.

I always get in trouble for the opposite. I'm sick of hearing "YOU KNOW you shouldn't be doing that!" and "You should remember, and act your age, you're TOO OLD to be doing that stuff"! GRRRR! I even had a doctor tell me that. I find that as long as I don't give in, I stay mobile!

YES! I changed to another! Now I have one who is not negative and who 'listens' - what a breath of fresh air! Melwyn.

Jilly, this new doc is a marvel! She is quite young, and when I had to have a 'fluid and solid' Barium Swallow X-ray recently, she actually came into the room with me, and directed the whole procedure, telling the tech to 'zoom in here' or go over that area again'. I've never been given such thorough service before. Then, she met me afterwards and went through the DVD of the test with me, explaining and pointing out everything. We now are onto the problem and life is improving, thanks to my new doctor! She was worth every cent it cost me! Melwyn.

That is just so great. What a keeper. Do not let this one go!

I think sometimes we do need to do a lot of searching to find the right professional long-term relationships - the right Dr, dentist, therapist, hairdresser, auto mechanic, and so on. It makes a huge difference IMO.
