Has anyone recently read any good books on being childfree? I'm looking at a book called "The Baby Boon: How Family-Friendly America Cheats the Childless" on Amazon. It looks very interesting, and ever so true. It seems like women receive a "get out of jail free" card when they have kids and work. This week I worked ~ 40 hrs in three days -- let me ask -- is a working mother subjected to the same misery? Not likely!!!

The newest one No Way Baby is good, I've recently reviewed it on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk

It's a good laugh but covers many of the issues of being childfree and looks into the reasons that some others view it so negatively.

I read "Baby NOT on Board" that was hilarious! Great read, I plan to read more childfree books eventually. I wish our local library stocked them, stupid library.

That's too bad!! I looked at my library's selections, and they at least have a small subset of childfree books. I bet if you called in an order request to the library, they would buy up some of these books.

3.two is enough (was a little bored with it)
4. The Childless Revolution ( This was wonderful and so enjoyable to read.)

Hi,Laura Carroll, author of Families of Two here. Of course I can recommend mine ;) if you are interested in happily married couples without children by choice. If the childfree decision has not been totally made, I love "I'm OK You're a Brat" -- it does a good job of realistically laying out whether you want o be a parent or not (or are ready) and treats the kid decision equally. Ellen Walker's recent Complete Without Kids is a decent read, as hers is part memoir, and part stories from others. She herself went down the path from child"less" to child"free" herself, which tends not to be talked about as much. Just a few ideas! I will be launching a book review site soon with a childfree section -- will post here when the site is up!

I started "Beyond Motherhood" over the weekend, I'm now about 80% through it. I am really liking it. Will start on "Baby Boon" next.

Great discussion, I will be looking to download ALL of these on my Kindle if they are available in that format. Can't wait!
