I am always on the lookout for a new, good book to read but I never know where to start. I figured this would be as good of place as any to get some great ideas.
I will start it off: I just finished "If you Have to Cry, Go Outside" by Kelly Cutrone. She is the CEO of the PR Firm People's Revolution and it is kind of a memior/self-help/Be Your Inner [censored] kind of book. Great tips, interesting info and a super quick read.
What are you reading?

In the middle of The Spiral Staircase: My Climb out of Darkness by Karen Armstrong --- a memoir by a nun who withdrew from orders in the 6o's and the difficulty of returning to the world. I'm really enjoying it and finding myself relating to her in many ways.
Laying in wait on the floor next to my bed: Stalking the Divine, by Kristin Ohlson (a lapsed Catholic refinding her faith through journalistic interviews with the Poor Clares order).
The Memory Room by Mary Rakow.
The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Potzch & Lee Chadeayne.
Just finished The Confessions of Catherine de Medici by C.W. Gortner, the end of my themed read of Philippa Gregory & Alison Wier books on various medieval queens -- good reads. Escapist historical fiction.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been reading the Stieg Larsson books that I got for Christmas. I promised myself that if I got a snow day as my 60th birthday present, I'd finish the trilogy. I read almost 200 pages of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest today. I hope to finish tomorrow, since I didn't get a snow day---I got a blizzard with at least TWO snow days.!

Hey Jem! I read a Karen Armstrong book a long time ago... I think it was called "A History of God." I LOVED it. I will have to check out The Spiral Staircase.

I am reading The Poison Tree by Erin Kelly. I have to keep reminding myself this story is based in London. The author slips an English saying in there or a word and I have to stop and think what in the heck is that! or i have to go find out what it is lol. It is a pretty good book thus far. There is TONS of foreshadowing in the beginning that gets your curiosity going. If it weren't for all the foreshadowing, I probably would have gotten bored and taken it back to the library already!

My mom gave me a bunch of Sookie Stackhouse novels and I picked one up. But I just couldn't get into it. Maybe because I've seen all the True Bloods?
