Nothing surprising there. She knew very young that kids weren't for her just the same as I did. I like that people are getting their stories out because it makes others realize they're not alone. I just fear that most of the people who are still shocked and appalled when they find one of us out don't bother listening to these types of things or reading all the other evidence out there that supports child-free women as normal.

The guy who conducts the interview is really nice, so non judgmental, and he reacts so naturally to her answers.

I too had thoughts of having whatever procedure done whether it be tubes ties or a hysterectomy or whatever I could when I was her age a little over 10 years ago. I had always heard that doctors would do it if you were under a certain age (forgot how old).

I have thought about having my tubes tied from time and time again, but I think I'll stick with the pill. I have never had problems remembering to take it daily, and there are so many health benefits that come with taking the pill (reduced risks of breast/ovarian cancer, acne reduction, and super-light periods). If I were to be sterilized and keep taking the pill for health's sake, I would feel like I wasted a lot of money on surgery when I could have just kept taking the pill.

But that's just me!

I actually decided on the same thing, beth - I was considering the Essure procedure, but I would have had to keep taking the pill anyway for the health benefits that I get from it.
