Welcome Jem!

I can't seem to shake it, really. I've tried. And they aren't always loud audible voices, sometimes in dreams, but moreover it's like an internal voice and I've chaulked so many of them up to, just me/subconcious.

OK, but how in a place I had never been and with winding roads and a blanket of fog only a ginsu knife might be able to cut through, in a million years could I have found that tiny road?

Talking about it the following morning I was told many of those roads were no longer used. Like roads that use to be, but everyone uses the blacktop now.

It was an incredible experience and I'll probably never know exactly how I ended up getting right where I needed to be and yes, it is embarrassing admitting you sometimes here things wink

What can you u do?

See, I think you WERE there, just not in your Eleise mode. I guess this might be a case of being led by what you call a spirit guide, or others call guardian angel, I don't know how to differentiate between all this. I just know that if I let folks at my church know that I believe I have lived before, or that I can communicate with my ancestors, I'd be counseled about heretical views. I think you're right to call them natural instincts -- this is "sense" that we all have, but which modern times have brainwashed most of us to ignore.

Oh, goodness!

IT's still out there, whether it's in a person's church or a well meaning "Christian" trying to save your Soul.

I'm Christian, but I have the openness and humbleness to understand I'm NOT God. I couldn't even pretend to have the blueprint answers to our composition or the mind set of our creator.

I know it's bigger than me and in everything else on this planet of nature, nothing goes to waste and everything goes on and transforms, even water and we're how much a percentage of water?

Having faith in just that, I know I'm in no place to judge a person and even if I have an idea of a Holy Spirit, I would be wrong in trying to convince everyone else, my understanding is theirs.

Who knows, I may even just very well have a few mysteries in store, left to unfold...at least!

Exactly. Thank you for your affirmations. I find that being a Christian makes it even easier to believe in the Holy Spirit, Guardian Angels, communicating with one's ancestors, and clairvoyance. Jesus did all of these, and empowered his disciples to follow in his footsteps. Understanding Resurrection to me means that death is but a portal, and so of course those that love me will watch over and communicate. And if it's possible to believe in God the Creator of All, and knowing I'm not close to divine, it's only logical that I can't understand the width, depth and breath (spelling deliberate) of God's mind and intent. But often this is very difficult for Church Leaders to accept.

I can't seem to get past politicians.

Even today, politicians don't mingle among the little people. They're eating $500.00 lunches, separated in iron gated communities.

Way back when I believe whatever was written, in its entirety, of the bible was hand selected. Even if most of the sand scrolls translate closely to what we have, I believe strongly a great deal of what our capabilities/mysteries are, were edited out. I don't practice what I do, it came naturally and if it came naturally, it came with the creator's package, already intact. It isn't anti-Christian.

I believe the people who barate the idea are mearly people who have an idea themselves of controlling, but on a much smaller scale than what politicians try to do. They just like seeing themselves as "All Knowing." Not.

In past history I believe heads of churches and gov. worked closely w/eachother...like they needed eachother to keep control in some manner or at least for political heads of things to show they are "backed" by a "Spiritual" advisor of some kind, thus making people hand over this or that, even feeling less powerful so those heads could reap the benefit of others handing over thier power.

If a person has a God-giving, God-loving peaceful, cooperative mind-set and the knowledge of powering their own ship, including instinctive influences, you wouldn't need all of the 10's of thousands of people telling you what to do.

They wouldn't be in power, they would have less perceptive control and would be at a loss figuring their own life out if they're not telling other people how to live wink

I agree with you, that much of what early Christianity was about, the mystics and the ability to have visions and connect with spirits, was edited out. I have an interesting version of the NT where what Jesus "said" is identifed by a panel of theologians & historians as either "not said by Jesus", "probably said", "representative of what he probably meant", etc. I think mainstream religion in the US misses so much of what is beautifu and mystic and is what makes up what the early church meant by the Holy Spirit. And you're right, if you have abilities that others don't, it was given by God as part of the whole package. I treasure the few experiences I've been given and hope to remain availabe to more.

Its the same for me, I second guess myself all the time. How do you become comfortable enough with your insticts to know when you should follow them? I've always wanted to be more in tune with myself that way, I just never knew how.

Keeping a detailed journal of circumstances when your natural instinct kicks in would be a good way to track and confirm just how accurate they are. After a few confirmations you should become more comfortable in trusting them.

There have been times when my "gut" was correct, but I interpreted those feelings incorrectly. This is always due to other situational factors I didn't realize or consider for one reason or another. Most often, I wasn't paying attention.

When I think and write, it compels me to be objective and consider all the factors involved. It helps me understand why my instincts kicked in for a particular situation. Considering all factors clarifies how I should have responded, and need to in the future.

Identifying how and where within your body these natural instincts alert is important. You already recognize them, because you're second guessing them. But sometimes our instincts can alert in slightly different ways. Including the physical details as I write of prior situations helps me differentiate between the alerts. A "step back, don't act, investigate this further" alert feels VERY different from an "Act NOW" one.

Hope this helps in some way.

Hi Cosmickitty,

Well, a lot of it involves embarrassment. I'd say most people retain 80% if not more of their instincts. So, a comittment, to an extent, of what you feel and exploring at least subtly is part of it.

Testing with friends and family if they are willing guinea pigs smile

Writing down (and I'm guilty of not doing this myself) when you are out of this world accurate. It is a helpful reminder when you are feeling especially isolated or just not a part of the "social" click as far as how you are supposed to react to pepole you've never met or dreams that you just can't wipe from your memory.

A comforting lifestyle or at least a room and time alone to reflect and this is a big one!

A partner that supports you. You don't need someoen who rolls their eyes at you or yuckles when you have a "feeling."

A supportive partner will hlep pick you up when you begin thinking there's no point to what you do or feel for that matter.

I got more...

Hello, all. I've been keeping this conversation in the back of my mind, and found all your thoughts have been very helpful to me in my writing. It seems that when I begin to write the stories of my ancestors, I leave this space and time and although my fingers are moving on the keyboard, I am living and speaking and experiencing them. I have come to know my great-grandmother very well, even though I never met her as a living being. She seems to be directing this writing which I've now submitted to several contests. I spent five hours with her today, writing about how she met her grand-daughter, my mother, as a repatriated American citizen in 1947. I hope my writing truly honors her with the gratitude in my heart. Thanks for listening to me.
