What is your favorite scent of candle?

I have so many favorite scents! Each one puts me in a different mood! Rose scent feels romantic. Spruce/Pine type scents bring out a calming energy. My new favorite is Orchid and it just relaxes me and makes me feel pretty. I love to drive my household crazy with sugar cookie!

As for scents, I agree that each one creates a specific mood so I have many favorites, too. I love sandalwood, so exotic. Being from Hawaii, I also adore gardenia.

I have some birthday candles for a ceramic birthday cake and they smell like cake. So nice.

The new linen, cotton and water scents are fresh and lovely.

Where in Hawaii are you? I lived on Oahu for three years. Since it is winter here, I have out my heavier scents. I have Spruce and berries in the living room. Ebony and Patchouli in my dining area.

I'm in California now, but I used to live in Honolulu.

What are some new or unusual fragrances to try? And how can we infuse candles with natural scents without the use of oils and extracts?

Infusing candles with natural scents can be very time consuming as well as possibly dangerous. It is important to understand the use of fragrance oils and essential oils safe for candle making. Some essential oils may be able to be used for say diffusers, but not candles. The question here would be how volatile could it be? You would not want to put something in your candle that could actually cause a fire. I have had this happen. I used an oil that was good for electric burners in some votives. It was not fun when a few hours into burning my little flame went kaboom. The other question would be how much of the product would you need to actually make enough to scent the candle? Say you want to use mint leaves for a mint scented candle. You could end up needing many pounds of leaves to equal 1 oz of fragrance. This is not an area I have delved into but will be more than happy to do some research/future article. I know an upcoming article will probably be very controversial as it will be debunking some of the myths regarding soy wax vs. paraffin wax.

I like food scents and fruit scents, like cranberry and lemon. I like spicy scents also, and clean scents like ivory soap or that laundry detergent scent.

I always love the clean sheets scent, but never burn one. I don't know why?
