The Republicans are on a path to fulfill a promise they made to many of their constituents...they are going to attempt to repeal Obama's healthcare plan. But is this a good idea? Should the whole thing be chucked or should the Republicans focus on taking out only the bad?

I wasn't in favor of much of the bill. I doubt that they will be able to repeal it so they need to scale it down and not fund it. They need to work on job creation, the debt, budget, and make government smaller.

Good or bad, Obama's health care plan has afforded my son (24) health insurance through his stepmothers plan, which he otherwise could never afford...

Shannon,

Not everyone agrees with having grown adults in their 20's on their parent's insurance. That has been a hot issue. I am on the fence about that one.

I say throw the whole thing out (along with Reid) and go back to where we were. Or maybe just go back to the days of home remedies and the help of a good medicine man or woman.

Do you remember when doctors made home visits? When I had my ears pierced I went to the doctor's office. It cost $10. All this health insurance has driven up the cost of basic insurance. I recall you would have basic health and then a policy for catastrophic care. When my son lost his job and the health care he had with cobra became financially out of reach he found a policy that includes dental for a very reasonable price; however, I do not know how extensive it is. He has a job now but without health but he is holding on to the new policy. In this case he found one privately and can take it with him.

As a family, we don't spend that much money on health care. We don't go to the doctor unless we really need to. Spending money on health insurance would be a waste of money for us. Obamacare needs to be done away with. Not every family needs or wants health insurance.

Lisa, I totally see your point. No American should be forced to buy healthcare. That is one thing that definitely needs to be dealt with.
