Just before I graduated, I had cards made. It's funny how awkward it felt to pass them out the first few times.

Thanks for the resource. I was debating whether to pay for some that looked more professional.

Wow - those business cards really are beautiful.

I handed out two of my cards at a party last night -- I definitely don't think they're outdated! They're very useful.

I always THINK that I have a few more in a box somewhere. The worst thing is when I can never find them in my pocketbook when I need them, I go digging around and finally find one that looks like it's been in my pocketbook for years...
I think if the business can afford it, the more professional the better - again, if it's affordable.

Now I'm going to need business cards for the Sandwiches Site. Somehow, I don't think that a green and purple card with a hovering hummingbird says "Sandwiches," even though it says "ADD" quite nicely.

Business cards may have lost a bit of momentum with the onset of online technology, but they are still a good way of networking and will continue to be for quite some time. It's really all in the presentation and the creativity and personality that you put into your cards. You don't need a fancy gadget to be marketable.

Face to face social networking isn't "dead" yet and I now find myself going to more and more events with nothing to hand out to people who want my contact information except for my work business card. I really don't want them contacting me freely at work. I still need to get cards other then my work cards.

Connie, Did you ever get your business cards for the Sandwiches site? I would be interested in hearing what you ended up with.

I do not think so. I hate that almost everything now is done by a smart phone. I am one of the rare people who have a simple cell phone and who still like things that are considered outdated like business cards. If one day I do have a business making my cards will be fun and exciting for me.

I absolutely need business cards for the networking events I attend in person. That being said, this last year has been fairly light on those, so I haven't updated them in a while. They're also great to tuck into packages when you sell things online.
