when I went to a catholic grade school, I was picked on as a transfer student. I didn't know it at the time but there was a group of bullies (the ones who's parents donated the most money to a private school). They controled everyone and took and pushed people around.

After about 4 months of this I stood up to them when I made a play and a group of people wanted to be in it, but as word got out the bullies wanted the original people out and them to be the stars.

I said, "No" but the entire cast dropped out because they were afraid of being ousted by the populars.

They alienated me to the point where at lunch I would sit down and everyone else would get up leaving me alone for 25 min. After about 2 weeks of this one by one, all of the people that started out in the play came and sat down by me. The first girl being Emily R. They all said they were sick of being bullied and it took nerve to stand up to them and if I could do it, they could too.

Now I don't care if what I feel goes against the grain. Chances are if I'm feeling it other people aer too and someone has to be the first to stand up to it. Why not me?

I believe that at some point in our lives we have all faced "bullies", I know that I did as a kid and as an adult, being a "leader" has its rewards!!!!! Good for you, changes our outlook on life completely.

Hi Eleise, you're quite right. There will always be other people feeling the same yet too frightened to stand up for what they believe in. Great leadership! (JOY)

Yeah, internet bulling, I have been there as a target, but, guess what, I have proven every one of them WRONG...Kari has made medical history in becoming free of endometriosis, and she never was a guinea pig....the treatment she went on was Letrozole and had been on the market then 9 years and was/is being used for breast cancer....now 15 years on the market it is used for endo and is giving positive results to so many that suffer with endo. Now AstraZeneca and Pfizer have an aromatase inhibitor on the market. It has been amazing....our faith is strong....our blessings great!

Many experience troubles that make us a stronger person, unknown at the time of what the outcome would be....if a door closed a window opens....we may have to get a ladder and crawl through the window...

When our son needed to have a respite from the constant bullying at his middle school, we decided to take him out of the public school and homeschooled him. My husband and I decided that since I am a teacher, I would stay home and teach him. Well, we cut our income by a bunch! I took an overnight job on weekends. One day a week of substitute teaching kept my skills fresh. Also, I did after school care for a friend's elementary school child. It was a lot to juggle.

It was difficult standing up to the folks at our son's school who were very critical of our decision to take a special ed student out of school. Teaching all of his subjects and piecing a bit of income together with multiple part-time jobs was a stretch. When stretched, I got stronger.

Plus, the universe did a balancing act. My husband got a raise out of the blue, and it made up the difference between my former salary and what I could bring in with my part-time jobs.

Blessings to all,
Connie

I have had 2 back surgeries and have had my struggles with opiates as a result of the pain management during those times. Getting away from the morphine and muscle relaxers was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I came away from the experience as a much stronger woman and a better person.
