I got a kick out of this—yes, it's corny, but it's oh-so-true! I had always been a quiet, gentle person, rather shy, even a bit of a pushover, until my children were born. All of a sudden, I became the Tiger Lady, or perhaps the Mama Bear, or some other large, scary, mother animal, always ready to bare her teeth. Whenever there is any threat of danger to my children (and I mean even a nasty kid at the playground), I'm ready to fight, maim, kill, whatever it takes. The first time I felt these feelings, it was so foreign; I'd never had those masculine, aggressive urges before, but now I'm accustomed to it. I feel sorry for the boys my daughters will someday date—they have no idea what they're up against! LOL!
