Inspiration and green living seem to go together perfectly!

What are some ways to be inspired by green living ideas?

How can you enjoy inspiring ideas in a green way?

For example, if you're inspired by vision boards, you can make them on the back of junk mail you get!

HA HA... I hadn't thought of using junk mail Lisa, but I did buy recycled poster board - and I always use up as much as I can out of my old magazines {and those of friends and family too}.

Most people think of the three "R"s when it comes to green living, {Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle}.

My daughter recently taught me there are actually five!

Re-think
Respect
Reduce
Re-Use
Recycle

Re-thinking what we buy. Do we really need that whatever it is we want to buy?

Respect what we already own - take care of things - make them last longer.

I've really been working with the re-thinking.

I will admit that many times I buy something because I'm in the mood to shop.

Yesterday, instead of buying a new pair of gloves for 30 dollars, I came home and started knitting some. With yarn I already had.

It inspires me when I can get past that "wanting" stage, because I know I don't really want the article I'm purchasing {in most cases}, I just want the feeling it gives me.

No doubt green living factor suggests standardization in the life of human-being.

I am constantly inspired by green living. It's fascinating and fun to think of ways to have less trash, to reuse/repurpose things, and to donate/recycle the things I do not use.

For example, I save my wine corks in a pretty glass jar. When the jar gets full, i put the corks in a zippie, write "craft supplies" on the bag with a sharpie, and donate it to a thrift store. Or offer it free on Freecycle or Craigslist.

I do the same with other things, like candle stubs, misc office supplies, unused holiday cards, magazines, bubble wrap/packing peanuts/mailing supplies and even empty glass jars that have clean lines or interesting shapes. There are so many fun ways to keep things out of the waste stream.
