My oldest ss wants to live with us. I also have 2 boys. One of which is his age. They are 12. They don't get along and having them both is quite a challenge on a good day. On a bad day, it is nearly impossible. I love him dearly. He has a behavior problem and is being treated by a psychologist. He was recently put on an anti psychotic for expressing his desire to kill his mother's live in boyfriend. I don't think he needed the extra meds. He's just a young hormonal boy who doesn't like for his mom to be involved with a drunk.
My ss is challenging to deal with. He usually responds well to me but yesterday the claws came out. He told me he didn't have to do a f-ing thing u told him to do. Since his dad was at work, I took him by to see his mother at work. She was closer. I'm not allowed to spank him so this was my only choice. I soon regretted it. She screamed at the top of her lungs right in his face. Then she called his father and screamed at him telling him he needed to beat him when he got home. I don't know if I'm ready to deal with my ss on a constant basis but will try anything to make things easier for my fiance.
I get along fine with the kids mom. We depend on each other a lot for childcare and I generally stay out of the middle of things when she and dh argue. To keep from hating her, I had to separate myself from their drama to an extent. I lend support when needed but I don't get in the middle of arguments. The big problem will begin when my fiance tells her that ss is coming to stay with us. Right now he's old enough to petition the court to let him live with us. She is not going to like it and I don't know if I can handle the fallout. My ex-husband has no contact with me or my children so I'm ill prepared for drama. Someone help!
