Dropped stitches make beautiful unique knit scarves, shawls and other projects.This video shows a row knit with multiple yarn overs (YO's) followed by the row where these YO's are dropped.

I recently did my first scarf in drop stitch and it turned out great. It's an easy pattern but looks more difficult than it is.

I'm glad to find that many of us are multi-fiber artists. I love the lacy look of the drop stitch. I've even taught students this st immediately after completing their beginner level of knitting. It's fun and it really hipes up their confidence to see that they can make something that looks so complicated.
