My father was my favorite storyteller. He could make up a story on the spot. He often told us kids real stories which he embellished a lot with his Irish humor and characterizations.
I also love the stories and lectures of Mark Twain. Every time I see a picture of Mark Twain, I wish I had personally known him so I could give him a big hug.
Joseph Campbell is another favorite of mine -- he did some great work in comparative mythology and comparative religion.
