I started taking computer classes at the local library. They offer free courses and are very easy to follow. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are happy to answer all your questions. Secondly, I am taking health and wellness courses at the local hospitals. They are very informative and interesting.I am trying to turn this time into a positive experience. Looking for jobs all day can be extremely depressing.

Unemployedwoman -

That's fabulous. I was unemployed between my last job and my current job and several people asked me at interviews what I was doing with my time. I could tell that they were impressed that I could answer something work related. (Of course, looking for work is a fulltime job too!)

Julie,
Looking for work is definitely a full time job. Many people think they can spend an hour or so on it a day. Researching and tailoring resumes and cover letters is work!

After being unemployed for 13 months, I started to get restless to say the least. I started looking into building web sites and my latest one is one I had to hold off on for a while before I put it together due to the frustration I felt from being involved in a lay off. A lot of people are there looking for a place to get information on resume tips job tips, vent, try something new etc. It is a new site and I am one of the ones trying something new - I am still learning and have another dozen or so articles to post. So please keep coming back! Come visit Employment Action Network!
