I had to share this with my fellow CFC'S! I was grocery shopping today, when something caught my eye; In our grocery store parking lot they have SPECIAL PARKING SPACES FOR PREGGOS. Pregnant women are supposed to exercise and moreover. are supposed to do weight bearing exercise. That is the most absurd thing I've seen in my life!!!!!! How about special spots for someone who is not handicapped, but may be injured...even for mom's with small kids I could see it for safety reasons as more than once I've seen a child dart out into the lot. Come the @#$% on, Are they kidding with this @#$%?

Actually, despite maintaining a healthy pregnancy with diet and exercise during my only pregnancy, the last trimester was a real challenge because of the fatigue. I was grateful for businesses (only a select few out there anyway) that offered that special "preggo" parking. I couldn't believe how exhausting it became just to walk around those last couple of weeks!
No matter what the reason, if you need a little extra consideration sometimes, it's nice to know that some businesses respect that.

Rayna, I definitely agree, there are times when a bit of compassion is needed for pregnant moms, injured people - adults children...etc...

Park in them yourself. No one will require you to take a pregnancy test.

If you don't want to deal with the awkwardness and fatigue of parking with the rest of us, don't get pregnant. Its as simple as that. And before I am labeled a hater, I DO give pregnant women my seat on the subway and all of that, but, I do the same to those who have had elective plastic surgery, or tattoos. Where is the special boob job parking at the grocery store?

I'm with the no prego parking spots and I had a rough last 4 months. Pregnant women need to walk a lot. It facilitates labor and no they don't need special parking spots. If you pregnancy is that a hard then you shouldn't be out of bed in the first place : )
Old people who can walk without assistance or other people with minor handicaps don't need special spots either and obese lazy people don't need carts to get around the grocery store too.
People need to stop making excuses for not wanting to get exercise whether they're pregnant, old, obese, or minimally handicapped.
Some stupid old woman got [censored] at me the other day because I wouldn't let her have a parking spot that I had been waiting to park in while the person in the spot pulled out. She just figured cuz she's old I should give my up my spot. Sorry but I needed to get to the bank before it closed.
She cursed me out in front of my 10 year old. I told her to get over her old self and told my son that old people are like everybody else. They're not special!
Screw anybody who thinks they need special treatment. Walk! Your lucky you have legs and lungs and sight and balance. Unless you have some serious handicap then MOVE YOUR BUTT! Your body was designed to move whether you're 100 or pregnant or slightly injured. Oy vey!!!!

Swearbear, these are my thoughts exactly. Sometimes in a moment of passion I don't verbalize well...lol.

Things like this are societies way of thanking breeders. I am a non-breeder myself (it just kind of happened that way) and the funny thing is I feel the slight everytime I go to a business with these kinds of parking spaces. Like I'm not as important because I'm a non-breeder? Of course, if I'm not enlarging the business' customer pool, then I guess I'm not as important - LOL!
