My married last name doesn't really go with short first names, in my opinion. Two of my favorite nicknames for boys are Cade and Jude, but as they are, they sound terrible with the last name. I LOVE boy's names that end in N (like Caden), but the last name also ends with an N (and starts with a C), and I don't really want rhyming names. Anyone know of any root names that could have Cade or Jude as nicknames, apart from Caden, Judas, and Judah? Ironically enough, I like Judan as well, but there's the N ending again. :) Any suggestions for girl's names besides Annabelle that have Anna as a nickname are welcomed, too! I don't dislike Annabelle, but it makes me think of the cow in that Christmas movie. Thanks!

Well for the Anna nickname you could go with Juilannah, Hannah, Lilyannah....... Thats all I have and for the boys nicknames do you want the Jude and Cade in the name or just with begining letters or the letters in the name? 'Cause all I can think is Caden and Juden. Sorry. ____________________________ MommaBear22m

How about just naming her Anna? How about Dianna? Anastasia?

How about naming a girl Judith and using Jude as a nickname?

Boys - you might be able to get away with Cade as a nickname for some of these. It might be a stretch...:
Caleb - Hebrew origin meaning loyal.

Cadell - Welsh origin meaning battler

Carlisle or Carlyle - English meaning Carls Island.

Chandler - English meaning candlemaker.

Channing - English meaning wise.

Cedric - English meaning battle chieftan. Definitely Cade when he is young; the more formal Cedric can take place when he grows up.

There is a Kade which is Scottish for wetlands.

Kadar is Arabic for powerful

Judson could be a Jude. Judson is English for Son of Judd

You could make Cade/Jude refer to both the first and middle names. For instance:

Caleb Dexter (Ca-De)
Casey Dean (Ca-De)
Julius Derek (Ju-De)
Jubal Desmond (Ju-De)

Thanks for your suggestions! I'll run a few by the hubby. :D I don't really like stretching it to get a nickname that I like, unfortunately. I have a feeling someone else would start calling him a more "normal" nickname that would stick better than the one I originally wanted. For a middle name, I wanted to use a family name (specifically either William, John, or Kenneth). And I suggested Cade/Caden to him and he laughed at me. :( I'm hoping I can get him to love it by the time we actually have a baby! I rather like Jude William or Caden John. Stupid last name gets in the way. Our last name doesn't go with any cool first names. Lol.
