If you have a teenage girl in your home, let me be the first to say so sorry cause I also have a teenage daughter! They are truly a handful and one thing that is for sure is that once they hit those teenage years, power puff girls and Dora the explorer is no longer the attraction.

Please follow the link for teenage bedroom makeover ideas.

Enclosed are some great budget friendly ideas and how to for her special space. Make her bedroom makeover a dream come true!

That's an interesting discussion where I would like to add my two cents.... especially on painting a teenager's room...

I have seen parents having tough times while convincing their teenagers for decorating their rooms. Now teenagers would feel that they are old enough to want to decorate or paint their room, but at the same time all the ideas they have are rather wacky. They may ask to paint the whole room with black color and the parents would want to use bright colors smile.

If that is the situation you are in then parents can usually take a middle way out by letting their teenager to color one wall with black or a color of their choice (usually dark) and other walls can be painted with bright colors.

Hopefully this works! wink

Hi Matt
I agree with you on the color issue you can have with teens. There is a way to compromise and I think your idea is wonderful!

Thanks for the article, it reminded me that it's that time again. My kids love painting/redecorating their own room, which I usually let them repaint every couple of years. Fortunately they never picked black.
Decorating on a budget is especially important this year.

A good idea would be to have your teenager tap into their creativity by painting on wooden blinds or fabric shades. I recently did this to my own shades and they look amazing! There's a few companies that are now making wooden blinds, I got mine from Levolor. I would suggest to start off with the fabric shades though, because it's a lot easier to paint on. Once you get the hang of it, try it on the blinds because the design looks incredible when the blinds are slightly open. Hope that helps! Good luck on the decorating :)
