My husband and I are due with our second child on January 29th, 2011. We have a 19 month-old daughter, Lila Rae. We have presently chosen a first name for our upcoming son, Sawyer, but are having trouble with the middle name. We do know that we want it to be one syllable, so that the first name and middle name will have two and one syllables, respectively, like our daughter. Here is what we have come up with, so please leave a comment on which you like the best, or you own suggestion! Sawyer Brandt Sawyer Brent Sawyer Brooks Sawyer Chase Sawyer Cord Sawyer Holt Sawyer Luke Sawyer Nash Sawyer Rhys

My faves are the middles that start with a B. And I like most the others as well.

The only one I don't really care for is Rhys. The R at the end of Sawyer and the R at the start of Rhys will make the two names blend together: Sawyerhys.

I love Brandt and Chase.

Another suggestion could be "Layne". Have you checked names in your family or even location names from your life?

I like both Chase and Luke. The others seem like such a mouth full, but that's just me. ______________________________________________________ MommaBear22m

Thanks for the advice/suggestions. I am 22 weeks along, so we still have some time to consider. I know it will come to us sooner or later! :)

Here are my suggestions (I "stole" some from the other posters as well"): Sawyer Scott Sawyer Shae Sawyer Nash Sawyer Layne Sawyer Luke I'm sure if I thought about it some more I could come up with a few more. Good luck - it seems that middle names are often more difficult to find and agree upon than first names!

You missed the best one: Sawyer Tom! :D Seriously, though, my favorite is Sawyer Brooks. I have a couple of other suggestions, too. Sawyer Brown (I love their music, but I am also serious about the name) Sawyer Todd Sawyer James Sawyer Trace Sawyer Drake I loved naming my children. For my boys' middle names, I used family names (like Ross and Guthrie--both surnames). I hope I added something to your process, even if it was only a chuckle over Sawyer Tom.
