Your weight can fluctuate a lot from day to day which is why a scale is one of the worst indicators of whether you are losing fat and getting lean. One day you might be at your desired weight the next day 5-8 pounds heavier.

Factors that affect scale weight include:

glycogen retention (from carb intake)
amount of food eaten (the food you eat has weight)
dehydration (from lack of water or increased alcohol intake)
bm activity (going or not going)
water retention (from electrolyte imbalances or from adrenal gland stimulation)
edema (from allergies, injuries, exercise)

How much does your weight fluctuate from day to day?

Mine regularly fluctuates about 5 pounds +/-, no matter what I do... it always amazes me when people get excited about losing 1-3 pounds :-)

Sleeping is a favorite quick weight loss tip since it is one of the most effortless. Do not understand the power of having enough sleep. It is vital to your overall weight loss plan. Medical research has proven that sleep deprivation would induce hunger, and improve appetite. This often results in excessive eating. Likewise, having sufficient sleep of at least 8 hours helps to bring a balance to the leptin level and aids weight loss. So when i sleep properly, i lose weight like 6-10 pounds and when iam stressed out, i GAIN weight

Hey Darcy great point. Sleep does make a huge difference. There's entire book written about this now. Main reasons sleep deprivation prevents weight loss or causes weight gain is it interferes with hormones. Going to bed late really wreaks havoc on testosterone production which is key for fat metabolism.

So get your 8 hours if you want to stay lean sleep sleep sleep
