Okay, folks, here's the deal - my wife and I can't decide on a middle name for our fourth child. It's not just that we disagree, but anytime we come up with a name that we like it isn't long before it gets thrown out as an option. So, this is what we decided - we are going to ask for suggestions on an online forum (our family members are absolutely NO help AT ALL). We will collect all of the suggestions and then have a poll of which one people like the most. I can't guarantee that we'll end up using the one that you vote for, but either way, it'll be a fun way to get some extra suggestions. Our other children are: Jaden Thomas Sander (boy) Eden Rebekah Sander (girl) Shae Isaiah Sander (boy) Our 4th child is due on January 11, 2011 (1/11/11 pretty cool birthday, I think!). We do know that it is a girl. Her first name will be "Abriana". It's Aubrey followed by Ana - AHna, not ANNa. So... there you have it. We are looking for a girl's middle name for Abriana ______ Sander HELP!!!! P.S. I just realized this is a "women's forum". I simply did a Google search for "baby names forum" and this was one of the results. If, I'm intruding, I apologize. I didn't realize that this was a women's forum until after I registered! Sorry about that, should have paid more attention!

All people are welcome here -- men too! smile

It looks like your other children have first names that are more fashionable, and then middle names that are more traditional. So, with that in mind, here are some middle name ideas:

Catherine
Chloe
Diane
Jane
Judith
Leah
Margaret
Michelle
Naomi
Rachel
Ruth

Actually, all of the kids have Hebrew names or names that have some connection or roots in a Hebrew name. When Jaden was named we had never heard the name and 99% of the people we talked to had never heard it either. Now, it seems to be a VERY popular name. So.. the Hebrew thing was one little tidbit I left out on purpose. We are willing to go outside of the Hebrew roots for our middle name search this time, but we've gotten stuck!

Do you know what gender the baby will be? I'm going to suggest "binary" because of the due date!

Sorry, should have read the first post more carefully. Er....does that mean "Moon Unit" is out too?

Seriously though, Ruth, as suggested earlier sound like a good idea. On of my jobs is working with child accident reduction in the under five age group and the names "Faye", Louise, Carla, and Corralie (with 1 or 2 rs) seem particularly popular at the moment.

Hope those help

I would divide the name in the manner you did when you showed us how to pronounce it:

Aubrey Ana Sander

Sounds pretty good to me.

I kind of like your suggestion GrannyH! It would solve the problem completely! I'm not so sure that my wife will go for it, but I'll run it by her for sure. As far as the other suggestions that the rest of you gave, "Thank you very much!" I appreciate all of the replies. Some of the suggestions are names we have considered at all, while about half of the names are ones that we seriously considered. (Go figure, huh? - I guess we were on the right track as far as finding names that "sounded" good and went well with her first name if the rest of you are coming up with the same selections!) Anyways, I'll leave this up/open for a week or two more and then, perhaps I'll start a poll of sorts and see which name everyone likes the best. Thanks again for all of the ideas, everyone!

Well, I think we've decided upon a middle name for Abriana! My wife looked over all of the suggestions from all of the various forums that I posted this request and truth be told about 50% of the suggestions were ones that were already on our "list" and most of the other 50% had been vetoed by at least one of us already. Anyways, after she looked over the list she came upon a name she wasn't sure I'd like because it is "traditionally" a boy's name. When she told me this I told her, "That really doesn't bother me, for example, I like the name Ryan for a girl." Her jaw about dropped to the floor and she got a huge smile on her face. Apparently, Ryan was the exact name she had in mind! So, since we (finally) both agreed on a middle name that we liked it looks like we will be going with it. I'm not sure I would give a girl the name Ryan for a first name but for a middle name I kind of like it. A lot could change between now and January and we might end up changing our minds about it but for now our new daughter will be named: Abriana Ryan Sander Thanks for the suggestions and help everyone!
