Most recent one is being able to travel to a conference for work, and just have fun meeting new people and chatting about all the exciting work everyone's doing...without having to worry about phoning home to check on kids, etc. Lately every conference I go to has at least one mother with a small baby, and they have to take the baby out of the room every fifteen minutes when it starts crying. It's great to be able to afford even four days away, with a spa treatment at the end!

I am thankful to be childfree: every time my coworkers have to use their sick time because their kids have yet another ear infection, or pink eye, or bronchitis....I get to role my sick time into extra vacation! because I can blast my music as loud as I want in the car without worrying about deafening my child (just myself...) because I can meet friends for happy hour, or spontaneously decide to go to the gym or shopping, etc, without having to worry about anyone else (my husband's a big boy and can take care of himself!) because my husband and I can spend our hard-earned money on fun stuff instead of piano lessons, or the orthodontist, or junior's college education. because I can sleep in on the weekends! And I am thankful to be childfree everytime I run into someone who used to have a cute little figure but hasn't been able to shed that baby weight...

Every day when I walk around doing what I want, spending quiet time alone or with my husband I think about how brilliant my life is and I am thankful to have stuck with my decision to remain child free. Every time I'm in a grocery or department store and I see the kids acting up and the parents acting even worse I feel I have been given a gift and I savor it. Actually there's not a single moment when I feel regret or curiosity for the life the other side lives. I am content knowing that I only have the burden of myself to care for as I age and the economy waxes and wanes. Those moments of childless bliss are too many to count.

When in any situation I see a person/couple with kids who look annoyed, frustrated, irate, angry, sad, upset, etc... I always think, glad it's not me/us! Happily CF!! My husband and I went to a dinner at a friend's house and they had a screaming two year old parading around, demanding attention, climbing all over everyone's laps, throwing fits, throwing toys, eating things off the floor... then putting up an almost 2 hour scream and cry session because she didn't want to go to bed. It's so nice going home to a quiet house! We'll never have to worry about our kid waking us up in the middle of the night because of nightmares, being sick, monsters, etc... We don't have to worry about who's watching our kid. Having to leave a restaurant, store, event because our kid won't behave. The best one right now, is we're moving across the world and we don't have to worry about packing up our kid's stuff, keeping track of a blankie, pacifier, etc... before, during, and after the move. Less stuff to do in that aspect!! I'm glad I found this forum and I'm not the only one who thinks this way!!

-- after visiting a relative with two young kids ... OMG it was so nice to get in the car and drive home in peace and quiet, then to get to our quiet, peaceful, clean and tidy house. AWE. SWEET.

Being able to drop everything and just go somewhere for the weekend. Being able to go out to dinner without worrying about high chairs and going somewhere bland because junior only eats chicken nuggets right now. Spending all morning on my computer without having a child attached to my boobie. Not having to ever say "no, honey, the doggie doesn't like it when you put your finger there." then having to dress wounds and scold my dog for defending herself.

We were at Walmart a few days ago in the "outdoor living" area getting some things for our upcoming camping trip. There was a couple there with 3 kids who we'd already ran in to once in the store. In the isle with the lighter fluid, I almost ran over one of the kids with my cart because he was laying on his back on the ground with his legs folded all the way back over his head (he proceeded to stay right there the entire 2-3 minutes we were right next to him). Another of them was fussing and pulling at his Dad's pant legs and then rolling around on the floor, and the Third was hanging upside down from the shelving next to the lighter fluid. Parents occasionally stopped what they were doing and made comments to the kids to stand up and act propper, but none of them did and mom & dad didn't even bother to see that they did. Then, on our way out to the car, another dad was trying to keep his two kids from running into the street and they were throwing absolute fits and screaming. My husband and I just looked at each other, grinned, and shook our heads. We recently made the decision to live CF, and every day it's seeming more and more like the right decision!

I'll love that I can sleep through the night. I love that I can sleep late on the weekends and I don't have to run around to softball or soccer games. I love that we can take a last minute trip whenever we feel like it. I love that my house is always the way I want it and I don't have to child proof a thing. So happy I found this forum!!

I love that I can shop in peace, I love that I am able to have cleaner every fortnight, not because I don't have time just because I work and I can, I love myself for making a tough decision and sticking to it despite what others may think or say.....I love being CF!

-I can eat the chocolate all for myself -I can enjoy sleeping in during weekends -I can go out, dance, and have drinks with my girl friends -I can splurge money on that new pair of shoes rather than a can of milk or diapers -I can swim on the pool all day long without someone bothering me -when I don't feel like cooking,I can go out and dine to a restaurant I like without worrying if it's kid-friendly -I can take risks with my money and decided whether to invest in a business or stocks;I don't have to worry about tuition fees and school allowances -I can take lessons in whatever interests me.I can go to school or classes, not send someone else to school
