Who already has a solar water fountain? How do you like it?

I did get a cheaper model that runs when the sun is out. I really, really like mine. I wish I had known before I bought it that it did not come with a battery though. However once I get a more expensive one I will move the one I have to a small pot in another part of the garden so I can enjoy the sound of water elsewhere.

I have not, but one of my neighbor has. He is skilled enough to build a little pond by itself. One day he installed a solar fountain . I really love it and I like to stay close to hear the sound of running water. I heard some rumors that the sound off running water is a good way to relieve stress. Am I stressed?

Here how the fountain looks like.

I did a search online and found some useful articles about DIY solar fountain. If you already have a water fountain like me, I will suggest you get a solar water pump system to make it work. I got a 3 watt version with battery (so that it will work at night) from here They also have a bigger watt version, but 3 watt works great for me.

Thanks for the information. It is a good sign that we are using green energy or, alternative energy in different fields. After the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico I think we should think about green energy more.

It seems each time I have moved I've built myself a water garden and one of my favorite water gardening suppliers is Moore Water Gardens - fast, efficient and the plants always arrive in excellent health. But I think I'm going to complain to their customer service department after reading about your solar fountains!! I really want one now! Can't wait for next spring. Thank you for sharing.

Just drained my little pond, packed up the pump and packed the roots of my lilies in mud and placed them in the basement for winter. Sometimes the lilies make it through the winter in the basement OK, and other times they haven't - usually as a result of my forgetting to keep the cloth cover damp and yet allow enough air in. If it would be deep enough, I'd just let them over-winter in the pond, but if I leave it it just ices right through. Have tried the local stores looking for a solar fountain for next spring, but no luck.
