Dianne - I find it interesting that you have private thoughts you want to share with the entire world but not with people who know you! Most people are worried in the opposite direction smile

I can understand what Dianne is saying, actually. Sometimes the people closet to us are the ones least likely to take something at face value. They will try to filter it and see if it's a reference to them, somehow.

My mom is on Facebook, so I have to be careful there - I can't just post something like, "why doesn't my mom get me?" ...

But i could do it on Twitter...or here... wink

Isn't that interesting though? So you really need three accounts. One for "everyone everywhere", one for "family only" and then one for "strangers only". Or are you saying then maybe a fourth for "strangers and friends, but definitely not family"? smile

Right, i cannot have my Twitter posts and facebook connected. And frankly, I would not want them connected. Facebook is for people i actually know. My Twitter is for less personal interaction and more business networking.

Other people's systems will vary, or course. I am actually working on an article about how different people use different networks.

oooo yes strangers you secretly love! Then everyone will subscribe to it and peruse every message for hours, trying to see how it might apply to them!

And then you could do "people who really annoyed me today" and have the same thing going on!

This is funny that I hit this thread today. I've been in a dilemma on facebook. I have a few family members connected, but I have to watch what I say because they "report" it to others sometimes incorrectly. Yet, my old school buddies or those I'm not as close to I do not mind telling them almost anything because there is never a cause for strife or tension.

I've even denied friend requests from some family members because they are notorious for gossiping and really twisting what they hear. I did not want that added stress in my life. If I write that I'm having a really bad day, I don't want a phone call from mom saying she heard that I was about to leave my husband which would probably happen.

Lisa, I do love your idea!! I could really get people going to see if they are the ones I'm talking about smile You've got me thinking.
