How long should it take before my joints get "greased" and I feel better after walking and working out?

Granny, you may be adding fuel to the fire sorta speak
You get all gun ho and push your self to the limits
Adding more n more injury to your joints & mostly your knees
Both of us are in our 60s, you need to slow down it's not like your in training, and have been walking for months every day
Slow down
Before you cause permanent injury to your self

Joint lubrication is not a result of exercise. It only happens when you do exercises that are specifically designed to lubricate joints. This is why you see all athletes doing weird mobility exercises before they practice or compete.

The best way to lubricate your joints to avoid pain during and after workouts is to incorporate mobility exercise into your ALL your workouts.

It only takes 3-5 minutes but it will save your joints, prevent further injuries, swelling, surgeries, etc.

You would think this alone would be enough reason for people to just do mobility work but most don't. They continue pushing through the pain as if it will one day magically go away.

Please don't be like these dummies who think they don't need mobility work. We all need it and smart people do it daily.

Here's a good mobility routine that I ALWAYS do before walking, hiking, or cardio of any kind. I also do this with my clients before all their workouts. Evey single time no matter how fit or young or experienced they are or how much they complain that they don't need it.

If you are training for a marathon the best way to do this is to increase mileage by about 10% each week. Next year is 4 months away and that is plenty of time to take it slow vs. going all out and ending up injured and unable to compete at all : )
