Well, I was working tonight and I found a Betta that had been in a huge fight (I work at PetSmart in the fish department). Someone had poured two of the betta's together and one of them was really beat up, the other looked fine. I took the beat up one off the shelf and asked my manager if I could adopt him. Of course he said yes. So now I have a little blue betta with shredded fins and some injuries on his head.

So far he is doing fine. He ate a few food pellets when I tried to feed him. I set up a hospital bowl for him, no sharp rocks or decorations.

I know that the people at work thought I was crazy for bringing him home, but I have a good feeling about him. I think he will make it fine.

wether he does or doesn't pull through, he's got a good fighting chance now  Hope he's happy : )

What's going on??

I dunno. I'll ask.
WhHHaaAAAAAAAATTTs GooiiiNGG OooON?!

What's he saying?

This one's a little trickier... He's either saying, 'it's time to move to the back of the throat' or, he wants a strawberry float.

Awww it is so crummy when people intentionally think trying to kill a living thing is funny. I agree it is sad, and sick as well. Glad you took him home, I hope he recovers for you and gives you many years of thank you, but even if he doesn't he is not left suffering in a little cup til he dies, or discarded as damaged without a chance. Good luck and let us know how you make out with him.

I am happy to hear that you wanted to help this little guy. He has a better chance with you than staying in the store, Please keep us posted on his recovery.

Ok, I have sad, sad news. The betta that I tried to rescue died... His injuries to his head and body were worse than I anticipated. He has now made his way to the great fishy heaven, where you can eat all the blood worms and brine shimp you want and you are never made to fight another fish.

On the lighter side, I got two Lion Head goldfish from a friend at work. They are really cute. One actually looks like it has an Oranda head... Does anyone know if this is normal. I don't know a ton about the Lion Heads.

Yeah, I don't know about the picture... I didn't think it would be that big...
