I've written about this a bit. The omron is what I use with most clients who need to lose a lot of weight. Give you a decent idea of your bodyfat, less intrusive than pinching fat rolls, plus quick and easy.

Once a client really starts losing then I switch to calipers but it's hard to do this on yourself. I tried and wasn't very successful. Learn more about these tools at the links below:

Scale Weight vs. Body Fat Scale or Monitor

Watch my sexy coworker Paulo (I think you will enjoy based on those pics of guys you posted before) measuring my body fat at the link below. Totally embarrassing but did it to prove a point. My fat was around 23% then. Very high for me.

You're right...Paulo is hot. A about 1 1/2 years ago I went to curves, they used a device like the Omron in the ad. It kept saying err...my body fat was too high to be measured. Soon after that I had my knee replaced, last Sept. in fact. I've been doing very little during my recovery period and realize I have to start someplace and now the time.

Those money hungry bimbos at that lame gym are so clueless and most of them are not certified or trained in anything other than sales.

Have had more clients come to me from that place hurt, disapointed, and angry than any other commercial gym.

Anyway, Most of the omron scales measure up to 60% and even my heaviest clients have never measured higher than 45% ish and I've worked with people as much as 70-100 lb overweight.

A scale just gives you a good idea if if you are losing more fat. On the regular scale you might see 3 lb of weightloss but the bodyfat scale might show 6-9 lb of fatloss. Much more encouraging to see that.

We all have to start somewhere so keep up the consistency and you'll get there sooner than you think! Make sure you're stretching your entire body to keep that knee healthy.
