Our Hanging Fuchsia was dying in the bright sunlight so we moved it into a more shady spot. Now it's making tons of flower buds again! Hurrah!



Our hummingbirds love it so I'm glad it's coming back to life.

Thats great! I tried a fuchsia once, but no matter whether in shade or not, it just didn't make it in the Houston, TX heat. I'm so glad yours did.

We're in Massachusetts and even here the summer heat almost killed it. I imagine in TX you'd have to keep it inside in the air conditioning!

Ours is in a completely shady area, and has tons of flowers on it.

Flower - shade definitely seems to be key for this plant. I'll post some photos when it comes back to life again

Did you take cuttings? Fuchsias need pinching out to promote bushy growth. Softwood cutting are very easy. You can put them in compost or put them in a jar of water - fill the jar with water and cover with tin foil and secure with an elastic band. Pierce the foil with a cocktail stick and put the cuttings in the holes. That way they are less likely to rot and you get to watch the roots growing. Pot up when the have roots. This method can be used for other plant cutting too.
