This is a brief intro as to why children may develop eating disorders as a result of abuse. I also introduce the concept of a food diary to help keep track your child's habits and to gauge if this is a problem.
I admit that compulsive eating is something I've struggled with for years. It's something that I still work on. Do you or someone you know struggle with an eating problem that you know was sparked by abuse?

My daughter was having problems eating after her abuse, the therapist and I were concern that she might developed so sort of anorexia or something, but thank godness after she testify in court and the perp was sentenced to jail, she has almost become the same girl post abuse.
Thank you both for checking out the article. I believe that self-esteem issues can be so intertwined with how we eat and how we take care of our bodies in general, and abuse can be detrimental to self-esteem.
I'm glad you're daughter has overcome her eating issues Soccermom. It's excellent that her perp was brought to justice. I believe this will curtail some of the problems that other survivors experience when their perps are still at large.
