My latest article is on Monopoly theme packs which got me to thinking about all the different themes of the game Monopoly. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of Monopoly mainly because I can never win. I do enjoy playing though.

I enjoy Monopoly, Jr. for its simplicity and fast playing time. I recently played Monopoly Here and Now which was quite enjoyable too.

What's your favorite Monopoly theme? Do you own more than one version of Monopoly?

Oooh a pirate version. I bet that's fun. That'd be great for Talk Like a Pirate Day which is coming up next month.

I have UK-opoly, with properties based on the University of Kentucky campus, and Scooby Doo Monopoly. We have Monopoly Jr for the little ones, and they love it. Actually, I bought them that because they were bugging me to teach them the Scooby Doo Monopoly game but they are only 3 and almost 5, LOL!

This is my one of the favorite game. I really like it to play. It is really amazing and outstanding. The main thing is that there is creativity, mind developing in this game.

Ever see the first monopoly game ever created? It was circular, completely wild looking : Monoply

Wow that is different. I never thought about what the first Monopoly board looked like. Thanks for contributing to the BellaOnline forums. Once you have 50 posts, the URL UBBcode will show up as a link. It's just a safeguard that BellaOnline has in place.

Hi there everyone,

Can you tell if a person needs a licence to design a game around the Monopoly theme or is it open season in a way. By that I mean has the copyright ended?

I have a friend who is designing a training game for retailers along these monopoly lines and while she is carrying on with her 'design' this is one thing that she is concerned about. Can anyone help?

Thanks and cheers
