There are so many people who experience Precognition. Sometimes it comes in flashes, moments, hours, or days prior to the event. Other times it comes in dreams or visions months or years prior. "Knowing" something will happen and with few if any details to alter it in any way can be a heavy burden. Validation when the event occurs can be a double bladed sword.

In the past my precognitive dreams have run their course within 6 months. However, my last set of "those" dreams occurred last August and it's getting really heavy and with no indication relief is anytime soon.

How can we deal with "Knowing?" How can we do what we can to prepare, if anything, and then put all of it in the back of our minds and continue with daily life? The last 2 weeks have been particularly hard. Any ideas or methods I can try are most graciously appreciated.

Faith. Have faith in yourself and your beliefs. Live each day to the best of your ability and thank Creator for each moment of joy in your life, for each person who loves you, for each golden memory, for every door that opens for you.

The Salutation of the Dawn

Listen to the exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this day, for it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In it's brief course lie all the varieties and realities of your existence;
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And Tomorrow is only a Vision;
But Today well lived
Makes every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn.

-Kalidasa, Sanskrit Poet of India, circa 370-450AD

Thanks Phyllis for the reminder. I have plenty of faith, I'm quite short on energy, motivation, and clarity right now. The creeping numbness and sheer exhaustion is exactly the same I experienced after the sudden death of my fiance so many years ago. I know I'm "pre-grieving," just so tired of the heaviness. I called the Tribal office today to ask permission for a visit. I'm not a member of this Tribe, so I always ask first.

The Tribe's Firekeeper walked on this week and the gathering is tomorrow afternoon. But I can visit on Sunday if the weather is good. At least an hour lying on the ground and a few in the swamp hopefully will recharge me like it did last year.

lcp, I can relate to your ongoing frustration. Some people think it's 'cool' to see things as they will and have happened. When I was younger, I tried to change the way things were going to happen. However, I only made things worse. Up until 2006, I tried my best to hide or ignore my "thoughts". In 2006 I realized that I could put my "thoughts" to good use and anonymously began helping families on the internet find their missing child or family member(s). In the beginning, I tried giving my information to police departments...only to be scoffed at. So, I decided to go directly to the source. I searched the internet for articles relating to missing children, teens or adults. When I look at the missing individual's eyes I can see a short time line of events they went through...or what they saw last...including the physical aspects. I really feel good knowing that there are families out there who can rest knowing their family is whole again...or laid to rest where they can be accounted for. This is the first time I have shared this with anyone. I felt it was important to do so...in order for 'others' to see that good can come out of something that seems like a curse.

It does feel like a curse sometimes doesn't it, if not a lot. Mostly because even if you don't want to see something, it pops up continually again and again.

Thank you Caulbearer for sharing something so personal, so positive. Thank you Elleise for all your support. A few hours in the woods at the Tribal Grounds helped. My shoulders are a tad lighter and my brain a little clearer. A large deer got spooked while I was on the boardwalk. I don't know if I spooked the deer and it knocked over a small dead tree as it scrambled, or if the tree fell and spooked both of us. I did catch a glimpse as it bolted, so I know it was a deer, not the local Momma bear with cub I learned about when I returned to the Library. The Tribal Grounds are a place of safety, and I would not have been allowed on the boardwalk if there were any dangers. I'm glad I didn't know about the bear family beforehand. It's good information, but would have hindered my efforts at clarity and release.

When we got home, I discussed some ideas with my husband. He is so supportive and creative, I am truly blessed. He thought of a potential storage area in our house I had not even considered. With a way to make it airtight and waterproof, he'll be working on that the next few weeks. It will give us several cubic feet of truly hidden, but readily accessible storage for emergency supplies.

With his help, I have other things lined up to make as much positive with this as I can. I've already shared with a few friends, family and plan to broaden that discreetly with private conversations of general preparedness. I'm also going to meet with our county OEM director. (Office of Emergency Management) There's a hurricane in the Atlantic now, projected to strengthen. With examples of security measures utilized on the islands near Charleston after Hurricane Hugo, hopefully I can get him thinking about county-wide security, and what can be done to lessen hazards from those fleeing the large city near us. The initial EVENT won't matter using plausible scenarios for our area. There are several. If the current OEM director was here during the botched Hurricane Floyd evacuation, that will lend much credence to our discussion, and my concerns less likely written off as the rantings of a crazy person. This may seem disingenuous, but I think having a flexible plan and quick response is more important than the scenario requiring it.

When I first got out in the woods on Sunday, I had a really good cry and released some of the emotion that's been wearing me down. When the deer and I got spooked, I was walking the boardwalk similar to a prayer/meditation maze. It's hard for me to sit still and think. My brain wanders too easily. Walking, knitting, cooking, yard work are activities that keep the "wanderlust" section occupied, so I can sort out the other stuff with minimal distractions. The added bonus, I have something to show for my time. Perhaps this will help someone else.

Just reading about your experience is a bit like almost being there. I can actually envision myself walking the same path and crying the same emotions.

We don't have woods where I'm at, but in my late teens and all through my 20's I only spent my time in the woods and usually alone unless someone else I knew at the time enjoyed the same thing.

You're right everything was always so much clearer and calmer after I'd go and that tightness subsided every time.
