I need some advice ladies my hubby is in prison and i have been taking the depo shot for 3 years now and i want to stop. Hubby doesnt want me to stop because he thinks im gonna cheat. Now... I have cheated before but it was 3 years ago. I did however give my number out to a guy to be friends and hubby doesnt like me having guy friends. we have been talking about this issue for about 3 weeks. can anyone give me some advice on this matter? it would be greatly appreciated. Or if the desire is so strong to be with someone else then get a divorce. But don�t do that to you hubby even if he`s in prison.

Depo stays in the system for a time after your last injection and it can effect your ability to have a kid for a couple years afterwards (not for all but for many). 2 years is the recommended average for being on it - I would make sure you'd gotten your bone density scans to make sure you have no bone loss from being on it (I was on it for close to 5 years before I came off of it). I can't say anything about you n your hubby that is between the two of you, end of story there. It if your body thus its your choice as to what you will do with it in the end. If your can's show that you are having bone loss then yes coming off of it is a medical necessity but other wise its your choice to come off of it or stay on it. You might look into a UID or something if your only reason for being on it has to do with birth control, less you don't wont kids at all then well having your tubes tied is also a good option if that's how you rather go for perm BC.
