I was researching a health issue that I have and found a link to possible MSG sensitivity. This website about MSG says that sensitivity may be linked to fibro.

Has anyone here tried eliminating MSG (and all the other names it goes by) from their diet to help with fibro? The issue I have is linked to overactive nerve endings which causes a tingling sensation throughout my body.

I am trying the one week trial diet she suggests to see if that helps.

BTW, MSG or products containing MSG but named something else, are in almost every product we buy or foods we eat in restaurants these days.

I am trying to avoid MSG also and it's VERY hard to do. You have to read labels constantly. I have a friend who has fibro so will mention this to her. Maybe it will help.

Yes, MSG should be avoided as well as aspartame and excessive caffeine. Chinese food is full of MSG.

MSG isn't a problem at all if you don't have it in the house and do all your cooking from natural raw ingredients. In my experience MSG isn't as much of a problem as sugar, flour (including pasta) and other very high glycemic foods, and as fibro herbs says, aspartame and excess caffeine. Mind you I do come from a community that cooks from scratch rather than buying packet foods and going out to eat.
