My daughter was a special needs child. She could not talk or walk, but yet managed to touch so many people's lives in her four years here on earth. She did make some sounds and you could tell what she meant. She loved American Idol and would make happy sounds for the contestants she liked and a ugh sorta sound for the ones she did not. She taught me and many others what was truly important in life, and how to take a tough situation and see the positive. Because of this I wanted to not let everything I had learned go to waste. At first I thought of nursing, but I do not see myself completing all of the schooling. I also now have a 22 month old little girl. I sat back and thought how could I not only honor her, but help other special needs children, and their families. I started a business donating 10% of my profits to the school my daughter attended for special needs children. Their infant toddler program is in need of funding. I feel I have found a way to give back and carry on my daughters spirit. I am truly inspired by the others that I have been meeting, and people's stories of triumph over tragedy. Mostly I am inspired by these courageous children.
