Hi all,

I struggle with my stepdaughter a lot. She is a nice kid which makes ne feel even worse.

She is an only child and so demanding all the time I feel like it never stops. Husband doesn't want anymore so I'm childfree and I just hate the constant demands on my attention.

Perhaps this is just me being childish again but my husband shuts down at the mere mention of me having problems with her, won't talk and says he is avoiding conflict.

Dancing around constantly in front of the tv going look look, is an example of her behaviour, not nasty stuff just constant, look look stuff - I don't want to blooming look!!!!


Sorry I don't know if I'm acting childish or what.... Aargh

Perhaps she just wants your attention. It seems like you get along, which is a VERY good thing. It is better than if you didn't get along - trust me!

Maybe if you suggest to her that the two of you have some quality time and after that she needs to give you some adult, quiet time.

You could go to lunch together or out to tea, maybe even throw in some shopping. Is she is any form of scouting? Perhaps working on a badge together might help her leave you alone later on. How about catching a movie with her some time?
