Just recently, an allergy doctor told me that my recurring hives relates to my hashimotos's thyroididits.
As with many people, my allergies worsened this year.
The allergist does not want to administer the weekly shots that could desensitize me to the allergens.
He says that the small doese of substances I am allergic to could worsen my hives. Someone else with hives explained to me that the red welts I see on my skin on the outside also occur on the inside. My guess is that the allergist fears the swelling that can cause anaphylatic shock. Is that true?
My thyroid hormone levels are optimal -- low TSH, top of normal T-3 and T-4.
I take natural dessicated thyroid along with synthetic T-4.
Are there good references that could help me learn more? Thanks?
