This weeks article is about cleansing your hair properly.

You may assume it is an easy thing to do, but there are certain things you should and shouldn't do to cleanse your hair.

Read this weeks article and share with us the things you did and you shouldn't have, or thought were doing properly.

Hi Jase,

I enjoyed reading your article. It should be pasted onto the back of all shampoo bottles...if there was space!

Warm regards

My hair is becoming more coarse with age, and so I finding it more cumbersome to spend that amount of time washing it. Hmmm ... let me rephrase - I *do* wash my hair! Lol! But, I don't always wash and rinse twice. There was a time when I was able to apply the "squeaky clean" rule, but that hasn't been achievable in a really long time.

Another thing is that the type of shampoo really matters. For example, as a blonde, some shampoos cause my hair to be more of a dirty blonde than it really is.

Yes sometimes we cannot take the time to rinse and repeat. Like I said, for the best cleansing, you should rinse and repeat.

ANd I totally agree with you about how some shampoos can make hair seem darker.

I will be doing articles on different types of shampoo for certain types of hair, especially blondes.

I haven't tried the rinse and repeat in a long time, I might the next time I step in the shower.
We have really hard water where I live, and my naturally curly yet fine stranded hair breaks so easily, I try to be as gentle as I can. A water softener isn't an option for my apartment home. So, rinse and repeat has been way to harsh in the past.
I started using a really gentle shampoo that my hair may tolerate the double shampoo now, so it is worth trying again.
Since I am a curly girl, I do use a lot of product, and shampooing it all out is probably more important than I realize. My conditioner and product will probably be more effective this way.
well, I will see how it goes....

yes, if you use a ton of products in your hair, cleansing properly is a MUST. ALso look into conditioning really well and adding in a hair oil for the ends or a nice leave in conditioner.

Some one told me once to stand in the shower and pore mouth wash in my hair and let it sit for a little bit then wash it out. it strips and all to oil and dirt out.
