I couldn't have found this message board at a better time. I just found out this morning that a coworker/good friend and his wife are having a baby. My husband and I, who are child-free by choice, adore this person and his wife of 1+ years, but I couldn't help but feel sad and somewhat betrayed when he told me. I offered the obligatory congratulations, but I felt like this was the start of losing my friend. Thanks for helping me understand that what I'm feeling isn't uncommon.

I completely understand. i had this happen this week and feel the same way. I have a thread on here where I am talking about it, if you wanted to join in.

But yeah, you are not alone. We are few, though. And it does make me feel sad and betrayed. People are going to do what they want to do, but I don't have to like it.
