I'm being to feel that I am the only one posting on this forum. I have so many questions and so many doubts about my future I just need someone to talk to.... As usual I have yet another question...well 2... My first question is I had an order of protection placed on my abuser the day he pulled a knife on me. About 2 to 3 weeks later I had it dropped saying that he wasnt coming around and he wasnt a threat..but he was. He was coming around "escorting" me to work and claiming that he wanted to come over to get more of his stuff. He pressured me into dropping it and eventually I did...My plan for leaving him is to wait for him to go to work and go to the police station and ask for an escort while I get my stuff. I want to serve him with another order but is it possible to serve him when I'm leaving the state, will they grant me one when I dropped on before and will there have to be an altercation in order for him to get served one?... Ok so that was more than 2 but I'm trying to leave no stone unturned...Thanks

It may be tricky to get another one since you dropped the other one. But if he goes to work, you go to the police and tell them you had the order, he pressured you to drop it, you are leaving right this minute and would really appreciate them being at the residence as you get your things to leave. When you get to the new state, you should be able to get a restraining order after explaining the situation to them. Then when he violates the order CALL THE POLICE! Do not talk to him, do not engage him, do not argue with him.

I have been told that you don't actually need any type of reason to put a restraining order against him. I'm assuming you live with him? I would call the police when he leaves, explaining that he's threatened you with violence, and that you are afraid for your safety and would they escort you so you can leave safely. Just make sure you tell them that he IS dangerous and that he has threatened you already.

Yeah unfortuanetly I do live with him at the moment. And Im the one planning on leaving the house. We both live there with his aunt and although she hasn't "picked" any one to stay or leave I see that when he does have his fits she is mad at him for the moment and eventually it blows over and she never pressures him to change or leave. I've come to accept that and even expect her to not have him go so I will.... And I do plan on having an escort when I get my stuff to leave. That is top priority because the past 2x I tried to leave he used force and a knife to "make" me stay....so this time he can try what he wants but I will have my back up.
