Very inspiring! Everyone looked great and it was great that Michael won--that's got to be a huge inspiration for those who are super-morbidly obese. Also, O'Neal who couldn't even walk up stairs before--huge improvements in his quality of life.

Yes, I was impressed with how happy and healthy O'Neal seemed.

As much as I dislike Melissa, I thought it was very unfair for the show to display negative videos for her and for the Miggy/Migdalia pair. I had to fast forward past the Melissa one. This was not the time to focus on the negative. It should have been to celebrate the progress of everyone and to keep reminding users at home that no matter what their situation, anybody can do it.

I was a little disappointed at how heavy the two brown brothers still were.

I felt sorry for Daris - if he hadn't been voted into the "harder pool" he could have had $100,000.

I do agree that this is great inspiration for very heavy out of shape people - that it is never too late to start thinking about your health.

my service provider cut out just at Mike's weigh-in - how big was his percent of loss?

Michael was the overall winner out of the "top three" - he began at 526 pounds and lost 264 pounds, ending up at 262 pounds. He lost 264 pounds, or 50.19% of his weight.

However, it was actually Koli who was the game-wide weight loss winner. He wasn't in the top three though so he only won second place (i.e. he won the $100,000 at home prize, not the overall game prize). He began at 403 and got down to 188, for a weight loss of 215 pounds, or 53.35% of his weight.

Daris went from 346 down to 178, losing 168 pounds for 48.55% of his weight. So if he had been "voted out" in that last round of voting, he would have been with the "at home" crowd - and he would have won. So he could have gotten $100,000, but instead he got nothing.

You can see all the stats here!

So so so so happy with the Final Three - they were all lovely people who really seemed to 'get it' about creating the lives they wanted for themselves.

And may I add how much I love that Michael won? I loved him from the first week, when he asked Ali at the weigh-in if she could see his abs! (he lost 34 pounds that first week!) He has come a long way from his mama's boy beginning. All three finalists really came into their own as happy, sparkling people. And gorgeous - all three looked simply stunning, and so pleased with their efforts. :-) It was the nicest finale in a long while. :-)

I can't feel badly about Daris not getting a money prize - he got to be a finalist - which ultimately has more cache. And if Koli had been in the top three, he would have won...which would have spoiled the season for me. He was absolutely bipolar at the finale, rude to Ali when he won the At Home Prize, and jittering around like a crack addict. I guess Koli didn't remember what happened with Heba in her season. It doesn't matter how focused you are on the game if you act sly or mean-spirited...it just means America will vote against you when it counts.

And...okay, Melissa? Even after seeing how poorly she came across on national television, she still had to show her lack of class. She screeched over Ali to yell at Bob, "NOW, do you believe me?"

I loved that Bob sidestepped the entire question and simply congratulated her on losing 90 pounds.

She looked good though.

I hope the show provides some kind of help to the twins. They both lost a lot of weight but you could hardly tell. Some kind of carrot - like what was offered to Shay - would be very gracious of some kind of sponsor to offer.

So, overall, except for Koli and Melissa, and the Brown Boys, everyone looked wonderful, and happy, and healthy and, well, sparkly. O'Neil DANCED down those steps. Ashley looked like Marilyn Monroe. Daris and Michael were so handsome as to be nearly unrecognizable.

Very pleased with how this entire season culminated. Good triumphed over evil and all that. :-)

I agree, Jilly! And I was thinking that Daris didn't lose, he gained so much self confidence, an awesome body, and a beautiful girl friend; his smile went on forever.
I wondered what was wrong with Koli, he couldn't seem to lift up his head, or smile at all. I guess he was too focused on the money prize, and couldn't appreciate how much he had done for himself.
I also really liked how much most of the contestants cared for each other, especially how Michael and Ashley helped each other out right down to the end. I never like watching throatcutting, so this season was especially enjoyable.

I have to admit I felt uncomfortable with Daris having his main praise about his girlfriend being how beautiful she was. Not that she was a fantastic person, or that he really cared for her - but that she had a nice looking body. It does worry me that the "having a nice body" message of the show can affect people.

This is Daris' first girlfriend. I think he will get things sorted out soon enough. :-) He seems like a smart young man.
