Hi everyone! I'm so glad I found this community, and want to say hi.
I'm 31 years old, just got married to the love of my life last year in July. We've been together for over 11 years before I could finally say "I do" to him (I've practised so many times!!), so I'm still feeling a bit dizzy from the happiness now, heh-heh ...
I've never really liked kids in general, so it was a natural choice for me to choose to live CF. My hubby knows of my choice too and is supportive. Just like that. No arguments, no negotiations. I didn't know how much of a blessing that is until I read some of the posts here. To all of you who have to struggle for your choice, I'm sending you lots of positive thoughts!! (*hugs*)
One thing I want to add, is I'm glad I live in Hong Kong. It's a hectic city, but people are (mostly) ok with other people's life choices. My friends who are pregnant all know of my choice to be CF and they don't ever nag me. Even at the family planning clinic where I get my monthly birth control shots, the nurse mentioned ONCE that "You're past 30, if you want kids, you don't wanna wait", and I said, oh but we plan on not having kids at all (no bitterness, because most people are supportive, so even if this one nurse was going to nag, I'd let her. Why not?) then she went, Oh, then you better tell the doctor when you see him for your shots. Just like that. Pretty cool, I think.
Hong Kong people tend to be quite materialistic, and it's hard to find many places to pursue the arts if you live for them (I love painting), but for the lifestyle of being CF, this is a great place. Guess when one gets older, one appreciates her birthplace more, huh?
Oops, sorry this got long, I really just started off wanting to say hi!! (*chuckles*)
