I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of knot this is? o if they know how to create it?

I have tried to follow the loops with my own string but it was just to confusing lol.

Does anyone have any expirence with this kind of knot and know of a tutorial on how to create it?

Thanks

Hi, Magnet22, I think I got your photos to show. Our forum gets spammed like you wouldn't believe so there is an automatic prohibition that doesn't allow people to post images until they've made a certain number of posts already in the forum, so that's what was going on with the photos. As for the knots, I'm afraid I don't know how to do these. Does anyone else have an idea?

It has some macrame elements but the knots appear to be different throughout. Perhaps the creator made it up as they went along.

Well the knot it's self is the same through out, it is just pulled a little tighter on some knots and little looser on some knots. The creator was Old Navy :( lol. I work for Old Navy and bought it for my g/f but I liked how to knot looked so I wanted to make my own with more manly colors lol. But yeah, the creator was Old Navy. The bracelet uses, what appears to be 3 strings, along with a 4th string to close the bracelet off (Im not worried about that right now). The knot seems really complicated but I am sure its hand done because it is to complicated to be machine made. Hmmm...maybe some others will chime in, in the next few days. Thanks for replies guys :)

It looks like it could be a Josephine knot. Do a search for macrame knots you will find a lot of free tuts.

Were you ever able to figure out what kind of knot it was or how to duplicate it?

I was in the Navy for a couple of years and have zero talent with knots. Luckily, my job involved aircraft and not Marlinspike Seamanship.

If you figured out the name of the knot, you might be able to find a video on YouTube that shows you how to do it. YouTube videos have helped me figure out a lot of things that text tutorials were unable to convey.

Good luck!

those are simple macrame knots. try going to thr library and find your knot. or look here. I think it is a square knot and then a half knot combined.
