I've got to change what I am doing if I expect things to change. I've also heard it takes at least 2 weeks to change a habit. So...the habit I want to change first is eating something sugary every night. Not sure when or why this habit started but it's a bad one. No more sugary desserts, low fat, non fat or what ever. I will replace them with fresh fruit. I'm stressing fresh because I tend to add sweetner to frozen ones and I'm afraid that will defeat my purpose. I can do anything for 2 weeks. I also will not move them from evening to an earlier time of day. I added that because I know how devious I can be whistle

I hope IOm not butting in on your plan. I have a degree in psychology and have been a health & fitness trainer at SFSU so just put this in the mix as a grains opf thought to cinsider. Many times the late night sweets can be a sugar buzz. This can be something that excites you mentally as well as phsyically so switching to fruit is a good thing but read an article that really interests you or do something exciting that you can pair with the friut. Also try not to look at the 2 weeks a a countdown. I find when people do this they run a risk of jumping back on day 15. Good luck sounds like a great plan you have!

Thanks for the info. I can always do a sudoku puzzle while I munch my fruit. I love them so it would be an enjoyable experience.

A lot of times people crave sugar because they're tired so maybe consider going to bed earlier and if that's not the issue then maybe a post dinner exercise routine that is easy and give you the same rush as the sugar does would work too.

Something you might also want to consier is what are you eating for dinner and the rest of the day too? Your body only craves sugar when it's not getting the right mix of fuels or is missing certain vitamins and minerals?

If you find that distraction strategies like puzzles, exercise, and eating a replacement food don't work then something is definitely missing from your diet and finding out what that is would be a good idea.

It's probably more what I'm not eating rather than eating during the day. My schedule is so discomboberated. I'm up at 3 am...to work by 4:30. I drive a city bus and have a long commuter run so I don't get to my first destination til around 5:20, sometimes later...leave by 5:40...make 2 more stops then it's back to town by 6:45...a quick turn around and potty stop then off across the river by 7 am...done by 8:30 am. I've tried cottage cheese, yogurt, bananas...what have you in the morings and I'm always famished by the time I hit the garage by 8:30 so it's either out or home for breakfast. Do some house work, run errands, have lunch around 1...then off to work again 2:15-5:30. When I get home at night I admit I don't eat good...sometimes out of cans or frozen stuff and I'm in bed by 7:30, 8 at the latest to be up at 3. If anyone has any ideas that would help me I would be forever in your debt.
