Due to the nature of our work we occasionally meet with people that have been abused horribly and/or abandoned by the church world. Some of these people need support in coming out of their old way of thinking. I do not consider myself to be a true Athiest so I probably do not qualify as the highest and best resource for their needs. Some of these people are exceedingly angry and are now decidedly against all forms of religion so I must be able to refer these people to others that can fully understand what they suffer and can be a source of healing for them. Atheism as well as my belief system has been a target for this overtly one- sided religious nation for years but there needs to be a place where people can go to be accepted when they are ready to fully embrace Atheism. They need a comfort zone. I have not seen a great deal on this site lately about the depths or benefits of Atheism so what I need to know is if can I tell them to join Bella and post on this site or do any of you have other suggestions? These people just need the courage to reach out for help and some will. I would be glad for your input and comments. I can see that this is the direction that many are choosing today and they need help. Its not very easy to come out of such psychological bondage without some sort of support system. It does not take a team of psychiatrists, just some understanding people of which some of you are. Thank You !! You guys are great !!!

They will be very welcome. The travisty which has occurred to these ppl is unforgivable. Such innocence taken away by so-called trustworthy 'holier than thou' sadists is abhorent, and would send anyone to seek solice elsewhere.
So much hypocrisy in this world ~ pray one minute and rape the next ~ unbelievable, just unbelievable ! mad

I wish that you were here Cream Pie. Thank you for your response and I will tell any that need and want the help to get on board with you guys. Maybe if some are really timid about a forum type of thing would any of you be open to possibly a PM until they kind of get on their feet? The general public has no idea of the devistation that the church has done to not only kids but men and women. It is not usually the little people in the confines of the church that cause the problems as they are just trying to make it as we all are but the deception and abuse of the "upperwork" is little known except by direct family members of victims or those that would work with them towards their healing. Thank you again !!!!!!

I would rather have them use the forum instead of pm's. That way they will probably get more of a variety of feedback. They can keep their anonimity, so no one will know who they are anyway.
Hoping we can give them the support they need.

I would strongly recommend Shannon Bimbo's book, "God is A Deadbeat Dad," for those interested in a different way, not the right way or the wrong way, but a different way; this is a funny, light-hearted, must-read book that offers clarity and understanding to the powers of what it means to be human! It touches on everything from the beautiful Cathars a group of people that predates Christianity to the hidden agenda of the Roman Catholic church. "Blessed without Rome!" Very good book.
