The overall key is to not be hungry. I realize that seems like it's impossible

But it's all about smooth, even eating all day. Also, avoid sugar. When you eat sugar, your blood sugar levels spike then drop. If you eat low sugar foods, your blood sugar stays stable meaning you don't get hungry.
So eat a good, low sugar dinner. Then a little while later eat a HEALTHY snack that is not high in sugar. Then keep drinking water and tea. That will keep you full, and happy, and have no cravings for mindless eating.
Also don't train yourself to sit in front of the tv eating things! That is VERY bad for anybody.
