I didn't know how to label this...I wanted to say, "Out on a Limb."
But, if anyone remembers that movie, there's a part where Shirley Maclean's car breaks down in front of a book store. She goes inside and a book falls from a shelf and it was just the thing she needed.
The plane crash of the Polish President affected me greatly, it just did. I wasn't following the Polish Gov. or anything, but this simply took a hold of me.
I've never followed politics in the past (it feels pressing now though)and failed history miserably in college. But last night I said, "If anyone has anything to say (refering to the crash victims) I'm all ears."
The next day, a package came at the hotel 2 days earlier than it estimated. I had several things in the package. The one I picked out was "The Medium" to watch. We travel so I always missed the series when it was on. I picked an episode somewhere in the middle. It was all about "The Sound of Music."
Today, my husband and I walked to the library and while I was looking for some books to review in the New Age section, a book fell from the shelf titled, "Nostradamous, WW III."
My husband and I had a disagreement on the way there, so we were pretty quiet. But both of us were looking at books (I'm dyslexic so he helps me find things and we both just watched this one fall to the ground.
We just got back, he's reading it now. I feel we'll both have a lot to talk about after he's done!

Hi Elleise! I love it when things like that happen! He certainly is reading on an interesting and thought provoking subject. My fiance and I have been watching documentaries a lot lately and most popular subject of 2012, and has us very intruiged.

Hi there,
What are the documentaries, I mean in general? We're at a hotel so what we get (the channels) are what teh hotel provides. We have a lot oc CNN, MSNBC and one of the Fox channels - I think it's the movie channel and Sports. Kind of limited.
What's out and about about 2012? Theere's a Mayan calendar thing and an 11:11 that I've heard. Anything else?
I know that I feel younger people will really need to dig in and investigate things - that will be important here in the not so distant future. To me that reads now but will be called upon in action for the next 17-25 years.
Right now is the "warm up."

We watch a lot of the history channel, discovery, and science channel. 2012 and the Mayan calender are a big focus right now. I did a channel surf to see what would be on tonight, but I didn't find much. Apparently 2012 seems to be a popular subject these days. I even saw a special called "The Nostradamous Effect" that mentioned 2012. People are back and forth about whether the Mayan calender depicts the end of life as we know it or if it is a depiction of renewal. Other societies or civilizations also look at 2012 as a possible end to time or the destruction of Earth. At present I can't remember which other people were mentioned. I guess I just found myself a new research project. What are your thoughts on the year 2012?

2012-at first I thought Oh Wow, this is interesting. Then after watching shows reading books I have come to a possible other conclusion. That is as far as they got in their calendar making before whatever plague/? wiped them out. What are your thoughts on this?

Hi Sarah, Well, intuitively speaking (only) what comes through for me on this 2012 thing goes something like this. I've not read up on it but I've heard people say they keep seeing the 11:11 and 2012 everything is whiped out - so to speak. What I get is that the Mayans were very simple - almost to themselves and utilized nature, especially things that we refer to as equinoxes (sp) but I have to look that up to see if that's the right word. I feel they had some way some system that tracked astronomy? That's how it feels anyway. So they mixed an order with nature/religion/evolutions, ect. I think something must happen with planetaries. So, whomever or whichever group of people consulted the sky/science have something significant lining up with this AND revered this and most likely made some decisions and their own revelations. Me, with working I'd say 70% out of my intuitives, feel how (as best as I can describe) how this part, each of us have the potential to excercise/develop and feel that time as we know it is misunderstood. To me it feels relative - intertwining (past, present, future). So when a person or group of people especially tune into a mental state where they can see this relativety, what they are seeing is the direction - the weight of cumulating energies. We are a very distracted culture - far worse now than ever before. So, it's kind of like letting 8-10 children loose in a candy factory all the while you're not looking or feeling the desire to pay attention. We have troubles of our own that can keep us from wanting to know anything more negative or complicated. We have the culminating energy of vacancy and the "children of intent" are now loose. I and many like me are a part of a wave of awares/healers working and are up to the task of helping to bring mankind back to a more balanced state - much like the mayans. Did I mention I don't sleep much, lol?

The planets do line up in a certain way on that date. Gosh I still haven't looked this stuff up again. On to research!

I love discussions on the Mayan Calendar and 2012. Here is an excerpt from my book (which I hope will be published this year) :
The Mayan calendar was created by the ancient Maya civilization of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Some Maya communities in highland Guatemala still use the calendar today. The Maya calendric system was based upon a system dating back to the 6th century BC.
Itzamna, the Maya mythological deity, is often credited for bringing forth the knowledge of the calendar system to the ancients. To get into the explanation of the different counting systems of the Mayan calendars can take a massive volume and boggle one's mind to the point of mush, unless you are an expert on interpreting numerical systems and cyclical periods of time.
So, I came upon a simple solution. The Mayan calendar, based on a period of 260 days and covering centuries, from ancient times to the winter solstice in 2012, is a cycle of time. At the end of that cycle, a new cycle will begin. The new cycle was just not calculated by the ancients. Why would they go beyond the many centuries they did when maybe the new cycle will just be a repeat of the same calendar, the same cycle with different dates?
If you think about it, to have continued the calendar to include further years, the calendar would have to be much larger than it is. It is much simpler to have a cycle that will repeat itself, in the symbolic form of a circle.
Based on what is happening in the world today, there most definitely will be a great change and an end to a way of life as we know it. Hopefully, it will bring about more awareness of spirituality.
I read somewhere that the Mayan people of today do not believe there will be a cataclysmic destruction of the world, just a very significant change.
The Hopi peoples believe the Fifth World is coming and survivors will be those who are more spiritual rather than materialistc.

Now here is a rather weird coincedence: Just as I finished the above post, I heard jets coming over, heading south. I ran out to get a look at them (it is fascinating!) They looked like F15's, which are war planes. There were four of them, one right after the other, and very fast and loud! I do not mean to frighten anyone - we are fairly close to Stead Airforce base and planes from there fly over occasionally. This was just a freaky co-inky-dink!
