Hi,

I recieved my daughters graduation packet yesterday. It said that for the first time, they would allow homeschoolers to graduate with the senior class of the HS. That made me think...how do homeschoolers normally receive their degree?

I think it's fantastic that the HS is doing this. I was wondering what the norm was.

Many homeschool parents use an umbrella school to obtain a "diploma"....and here in FL the FPEA holds a graduation ceremony. I am planning to post links later this week for each state for homeschool info., so hopefully that will help some folks. What do all of the other Homeschooling BellOnline readers do for graduation? :0) Please share!

If we don't want our children attending school, why would we want them graduating from one? If something is wrong with school, why do we want their stamp of approval?

What worked for us was to have the kids take the ACT when they decided they wanted to go to college. They scored very well (got fabulous scholarships) and were never asked for HS diplomas or GEDs. I guess if you can do the algebra, etc. on the ACT, they figure you "graduated."
