I just got my little shopvac out of storage and I LOVE it for cleaning my floors in the RV. I also got out my Little Green Machine for the upholstery, which works nicely. So I guess I will sell my upright vacuum cleaner - no need for that huge thing anymore.

What do other people do to clean inside their RV?

Yeah, there isn't much point in a Roombie in here! Maybe if I had a n RV with slideouts galore and tons of square footage. :-)

My husband, labrador and I all lived in a 30 ft travel trailer for about 4 years! Not even a block from the beach - it was wonderful. Gotta tell ya though, I hated cleaning. I wouldn't even use the stove or oven! I had a microwave and a convection oven, to avoid the propane and fire thing - ok, I'm a little nervous about being in a match box that could incinerate in a matter of seconds. Perhaps I'm overly cautious. Ok, the point is, that when it came to cleaning - I paid a teenage girl $20 who would spend a couple of hours, practically detailing the place, once a month. - The dog fur was the worst part of it. And I'm really anal about the floors, I had to have a real vacuum cleaner with a hose and the whole bit. I always wondered how a rumba would've worked in there. LOL

I also use a lot of Clorox Wipes on the floor for day to day spot cleaning.

Janet, a cleaning girl is a darn neat idea. I also do not use the stovetop - i hate the mess. I am happy with my microwave/convection oven too.

Jilly - you might be able to trade with someone in the area. Offer to help them each month with a task you're good at, like maybe learning about the web. Ask them to come in and clean for you in return!

I do like cleaning - I find it a peaceful, meditative activity. But I think that's a good idea about a trade for a once a month, thorough scrubbing trade.

How would I find someone at the different campgrounds? Put up a card at each park bulletin board with my site number? What would the card say?

I always clean my Rv. If I drive and it gets dirty, I clean it before I go in. I use vacuum cleaner to clean my Rv and I always use a Rv cover as well.

We love to clean the RV all the time too. And we always use eco-friendly products when cleaning. Our favorite is Meyers aromatherapeutic cleaning products in the Basil scent. It smells soooo delightful and really does a great job cleaning! We have a tiny vacuum cleaner that we tote in from the house from time to time. Otherwise, we just aggressively sweep and get on our hands and knees with wipes to get the floors and carpets clean.

I use green products also. A basil scent sounds simply wonderful! I have to look that one up.

One thing i have found as a must-have is a rubber sweeper type broom. I use it all day long to get the hairs, crumbs, random kitty litter granules and dirt right out the door.

One side of the rubber broom has sweepy hairs and the other side is kinda like a squeegee. It's awesome. I put a hook near the door and it's very easy and convenient to use.
